Question: What do you mean when you say you are against over commercialisation?
Answer: What we mean by this is that we will not bow down to over-commercialisation. Please find an fictional example below to explain what we mean...
Somewhere pride festival enters into a X year sponsorship deal with BIG business limited. As a result, somewhere pride's whole event has been hijacked by BIG business limited, leading to somewhere pride's website being full of BIG business limited's logos, event banners, their artists, BIG business pride flags etc.
Eventually BIG business then gets to the point where they sponsor so much money that somewhere pride is forced to change it's name to BIG business pride. Suddenly somewhere pride has lost all control of its own event and has become a victim of Pink Washing.
This is something we will never succumb to. We hand select sponsors for all of our events on the basis of them being all about the LGBTQ+ community all year round, not just for one day. We also carry out meticlous background searches on all sponsors and organsiations that wish to donate to us. This way we protect the community we serve and our charity at the same time. Any other benefit to sponsors, than what we offer them is purley incedental.
